My name is Dr. Tess Pierce. My scholarship and research focus on the implications of digital technology and the ways in which people negotiate their cultural identities in order to resolve complex situations when online. The central theme of my research is the production of meaning in every day life. I have a BA in Speech Communication from Colorado State University, and a MA in Human Communication Studies from the University of Denver. My Ph.D. is in Women's Studies from Clark University.
I am an Assistant Professor in the Communication Program at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology and head of the Science and Technology specialization.
